Dutch artist based in Haarlem fascinated by paint as a structural material. He loves to explore how, by adding different materials to the paint, structure (depth and form | shaped depth) appears. This adds a very tactile element to the experience.
What
The paintings are the result of a dialog between the artist and the medium. Starting from bringing the canvas to life by randomly adding paint, the canvas slowly steers in a direction opening up the dialog. A process of listening, miscommunication, and reinterpretation lead to find out what exactly it is, the canvas is asking for. The misunderstandings live underneath the surface of the final painting, supporting it with their story.
